I Am...

I Am…

A daughter, who loves her widowed father very much. Spending every second I can with him before it’s too late, hoping not to regret anything later. He cooks after a long practice of tennis and hugs me telling me it will be alright when he hears or sees me cry. Who I like to bother by saying “wait until you can walk me down the aisle” Gust to get on his nerves.

A mother like figure to a bird, who shows me what it would be like to spread my wings and fly around the world or at least my house for now.

A sister to a brother who is 18 and heading off to college. Staying up late talking with him when he is home and loving every second of it knowing the consequences in the morning will soon come. Who might be counting down the hours till he leaves but doesn’t know it hurts me to think of letting him go.

A Granddaughter to a loving grandpa in America and a loving grandma and grandpa in Mexico. Though we may fight we still love each other very much and never curse or say evil names to each other.

A Friend to Tia. Who I met at carver middle school, and didn’t like me at first seeing as I was a prep who didn’t like to get her hands dirty. Who now will go on a girls day with me when I need to be with a girl or who will let me come over anytime I want crying and hug me saying she’s always there.

A tennis player who likes to play for the fun and not for the competition, though it is nice to win.

 I Am…

A lover of anime and the stories it has or brings to my mind. Writing them down before they slip back away in to the depths of my mind.

A lover of music, playing it loud in my ears when I can’t stand to even hear myself think.

A reader of a good book with lots of action and love.

A lover of a Rainy day hoping not to hear any thunder so I can go out and dance in it. Listening to the sound of each drop hit the ground or puddle in the street.

The holder of a necklace with a tiger on it. That once was bought by me and lost, till my mother surprised me with a new one on my birthday, hoping the tears would stop. They did.

The holder of Mr. Bunny who has been there for me through more times than anyone can begin to understand.

 I Am…

An artist in the making who loves to paint more than draw, and dreads when I walk in to class and sees a still life waiting to be captured.

A controlling friend who likes to take charge and doesn’t take orders very well in a bad mood.

An independent women who knows what she wants, how she wants it, and when.

A strong Girl who has been through a lot for my age and knows I still have a story to write. Who will fight for a friend but still have a loving hug for them when they need it. Who has a very high tolerance for pain.

  1. This is beautiful, Dianna. This really captures you--your love for your family, the difficult times you're all working through, the happiness you find in the world around you. I'm so sorry you lost your mom. I'm just getting to know you but I can sure tell that you are someone she would be so proud of. Thank you for putting such thought into this piece. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad to have your smiling face at the table by my desk every morning!
